Book Review Policy

Anyone who has ever been to a bookstore in a Middle Eastern city knows that we could never review all the significant new books. We couldn't even come close. Our attempt is to draw from two opposed categories, books we consider representative and books from the margins, books we feel our readers are unlikely to learn about elsewhere.

When we speak of a forum, we mean that we hope to enlist engaged voices, both commentators and participants in the literary scene of the Middle East. Our goal is to include as many voices as possible, with distinct points of view and even opinions. Readers of this web page with ideas of new books we may be unaware of, which would be appropriate for our reviews are encouraged to get in touch with us. michael_beard@und.nodak.edu
